Beardstown proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 14) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Mendon Unity Mustangs. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Tigers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Beardstown's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colby Desollar, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Beardstown's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2. As for Mendon Unity, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.
