Tempe is 0-3 against Dysart since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tempe Buffaloes will head out on the road to challenge the Dysart Demons at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Friday, Tempe earned a 60-49 victory over Apache Junction. The win made it back-to-back wins for Tempe.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tempe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nassir Cobbs, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Cobbs is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Irizarry-Navarro, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Dysart waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins but they left with six. They breezed by Coronado at home to the tune of 79-35. Dysart has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.
Dysart's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nate Morales, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Anderson, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Tempe's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14. As for Dysart, their victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Tempe hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 54.5 points per game. It's a different story for Dysart, though, as they've been averaging only 68.6 points per game. The only thing between Tempe and another offensive beatdown is Dysart. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Tempe was dealt a bruising 77-43 loss at the hands of Dysart in their previous meeting last Wednesday. Can Tempe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
