The Pell City Panthers had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-31 win over Cherokee County. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pell City also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2018.
Pell City was led to victory by Reagan Tarver and Reese Tarver. Tarver scored nine points along with three steals, while Tarver scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Saniya McFarlin, who scored ten points.
Pell City's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for Cherokee County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Pell City will be home for the holidays to greet Cullman at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cherokee County will take on Oneonta in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at. Oneonta is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
