After three games on the road, Chincoteague is heading back home. They will take on the Nandua Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Thursday, Chincoteague was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 67-61 to the Firebirds.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jake Harper, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Harper, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Even though Nandua has not done well against the Yellowjackets recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Nandua managed a 70-65 victory over the Yellowjackets.
Chincoteague has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Nandua, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
