Lamar was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Hollister 51-6. The margin was wide but not a surprise since Lamar are ranked far ahead of Hollister in the MaxPreps state rankings.
Lamar's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 22 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Hollister couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 22-0 heading into the break. The other side of the ball continued to do well for Lamar in the second half and held Hollister to 6 points. The win bumped Lamar's record up to 2-0. The loss dropped Hollister's record to 1-1.
Next week, Lamar take on Aurora at 7:00 PM. As for Hollister, they will face off against Springfield Catholic.
