SCURRY, Texas -
Scurry-Rosser (Scurry, Texas) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 27-7 victory over
Mildred (Corsicana, Texas) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, the Wildcats were up 13-7 at the half.
Scurry-Rosser grew its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. SR's lone score in the quarter came on a
Rodney Sample touchdown run.
Mildred's lone touchdown came on a 7-yard run by
Draylon Sterling in the first quarter.
The Scurry school had given up an average of 15.3 points prior to the contest. The seven points that the Eagles ended with were well below their average of 39.6 coming into the game.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Mildred took, 83-0.
The loss comes after Mildred defeated Life Oak Cliff 51-6 last week. The loss snapped Mildred's two-game winning streak.
