Poplarville extended their postseason success on Saturday against Morton. They were the clear victors by a 23-5 margin over the Panthers. The Hornets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brayden Lee was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Cruze Sheppard also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Poplarville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .717. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Poplarville and bumps their season record up to 20-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Morton, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-19.
