Navarre is 0-10 against Pace since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Raiders will take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Navarre is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Navarre is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Horizon as they made off with a 13-4 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Renee Hester was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Weaver, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Navarre was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Pace had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Knights a 5-0 shutout.
The result came thanks to Hannah DeMarcus's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 20 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 23 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abby McLean, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Lana Gonzales was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Navarre is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pace, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Navarre hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Pace struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Navarre came up short against Pace in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 5-1. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
