Greencastle is 8-1 against South Vermillion since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Greencastle Tiger Cubs will look to defend their home court against the South Vermillion Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Greencastle entered their tilt with Edgewood with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Greencastle walked away with a 55-45 victory over Edgewood on Saturday.
Greencastle found their leader in underclassman Sam Gooch, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Gooch is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Connor Sullivan was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, South Vermillion came up short against West Vigo on Wednesday and fell 68-61. South Vermillion has not had much luck with West Vigo recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Greencastle is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for South Vermillion, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
