T.C. Roberson is 8-2 against Erwin since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. T.C. Roberson will head out on the road to take on Erwin at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
T.C. Roberson took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Asheville as T.C. Roberson made off with a 14-0 victory. Considering the Rams' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Aniyah Davis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Davis was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season.
In other batting news, Jorgia McMinn and Ellie Tomlinson did most of the damage at the plate: McMinn scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3, while Tomlinson scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Tomlinson also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Skylar Gribben was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2.
T.C. Roberson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Erwin hadn't done well against A.C. Reynolds recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Erwin walked away with a 13-9 win over A.C. Reynolds. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kylie Gingras made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Erwin got a massive performance out of Camdin Shelton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Dusty Chapman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Erwin now has a winning record of 3-2. As for T.C. Roberson, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.
T.C. Roberson was able to grind out a solid win over Erwin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 11-6. Will T.C. Roberson repeat their success, or does Erwin has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
