Even though the Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk have not done well against the Mystic Valley Regional Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Innovation Academy strolled past Mystic Valley Regional with points to spare, taking the game 64-45. The victory was familiar territory for Innovation Academy who now have five in a row.
Derrick Twum continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 37 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Innovation Academy's points. Bryce Kankam was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Innovation Academy pushed their record up to 5-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Mystic Valley Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Innovation Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Minuteman Regional at 4:00 p.m. As for Mystic Valley Regional, they will head out on the road to challenge Academy of Notre Dame at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
