The Beachside Barracudas scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They really took it to Fletcher for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-44 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Beachside, who have now won four matchups by 32 points or more so far this season.
Beachside was led to victory by Kendall Kane and Morgan Cremen. Kane scored 19 points, while Cremen scored 15 points along with nine steals. The game was Cremen's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Madilyn (Madi) Ray was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Fletcher lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jasmine Cross. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points. Cross scored a full 40.9% of Fletcher's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brylee Rains, who scored 14 points.
Beachside's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Fletcher, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beachside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against ED White at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. ED White will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Beachside is ranked 89th). Fletcher won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Episcopal School of Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th.
