Marshall is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Harper Creek is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Redhawks will host the Beavers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Marshall 3.7, Harper Creek 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Marshall made easy work of Hastings and carried off a 15-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Redhawks, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Brandon Baker looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landon Lewis, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Stealy, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Marshall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hastings only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Harper Creek earned a 7-3 win over Western on Tuesday. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Brayden Bess made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Jimmy Leamy was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Marshall has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Harper Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5-1.
Marshall couldn't quite finish off Harper Creek when the teams last played two weeks ago and fell 4-2. Can the Redhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
