Lincoln is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against River Ridge, falling 12-2.
Malakai Boyovich made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.
Silas never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lakes last Friday. They put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 15-1 win. The Rams not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024.
Carter Lystra and Joe Duke made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lystra tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Duke pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Furthermore, Lystra didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. At bat, Lystra scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Duke scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Eli Lystra was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jackson Keeton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Silas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakes only posted an OBP of .111.
Silas now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Lincoln might still be hurting after the 12-5 defeat they got from Silas when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Lincoln avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
