Baseball Recap: Shelbyville Wins Going Away Against Woden

Shelbyville barely beat Woden the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dragons put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 7-1 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Dallas Murry made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Morgan Doggett was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Hunter Harvey was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Shelbyville's victory bumped their record up to 12-5-1. As for Woden, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Shelbyville is taking a road trip to challenge Chireno at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woden, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Joaquin at 6:05 p.m. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
