HOBBS, N.M. - the Eagles scored 21 points in the second quarter to secure a big 41-0 victory over Alamogordo (N.M.) on Saturday.
Hobbs scored on a touchdown catch by
Steven Olivas, a touchdown run by
Kolin Zembas and a Zembas touchdown run in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, HHS led 34-0 at the half.
The Eagles entered the contest giving up 28.8 points per game this year.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Hobbs, which was coming off a 50-7 defeat at the hands of Goddard in its previous game. The loss comes after Alamogordo defeated Socorro 33-13 last week.
In a non-conference game next week Hobbs (5-1) takes on Lovington, and Alamogordo (1-4) will go up against Deming also in a non-conference game.
