Softball Recap: Sarasota Wins Going Away Against Manatee

After only one run in their last game, Sarasota made sure to put some runs up on the board against Manatee on Friday. The Sailors put the hurt on the Hurricanes with a sharp 15-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sailors, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tyler Sciesinski made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Mady Pint was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gianna Williams, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Sarasota was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Sarasota has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Manatee, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Sarasota has already played their next game, an 18-7 victory against North Port on the 10th. As for Manatee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 18-7 defeat against Lemon Bay on the 7th.
