Weatherford saw some tournament action on Friday. They claimed a resounding 82-42 victory over the Burges Mustangs. The Kangaroos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

When it comes to explaining why Burges lost, don't look at Anthony Rubio. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 37 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Rubio has posted since back in November of 2023.

Weatherford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Burges, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Weatherford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-26 win against Midland on the 27th. As for Burges, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-59 victory against Del Rio on the 27th.
