The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lafayette Christian has three straight victories, Shiloh Hills Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Lafayette Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Flint River Academy, taking the game 31-24.
Carmen Bridges and Marta Oria were among the main playmakers for Lafayette Christian as the former scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals and the latter scored eight points along with seven steals and three blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bridges has scored at least a third of Lafayette Christian's points.
Meanwhile, Shiloh Hills Christian came up short against Dominion Christian on Thursday and fell 50-37.
Lafayette Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Shiloh Hills Christian, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.
Everything came up roses for Lafayette Christian against Shiloh Hills Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 66-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lafayette Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
