Tahanto Regional had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 3-6 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out the Quabbin Regional Panthers 9-8. This was a revenge game for the Stags: when they faced off against the Panthers back in April, they had to take a 6-4 loss.

Luke Stevens was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Tahanto Regional's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Allen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Colin Brissette was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
As for Quabbin Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs.
Like Tahanto Regional, Quabbin Regional also got a great game from a two-way player: Abe Brown. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Brown has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Adam Adams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Tahanto Regional is set to face off against their familiar foe Bromfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Quabbin Regional will square off against rival Narragansett Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
