Temple entered their tilt with Mt. Zion on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mt. Zion Eagles, sneaking past 63-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since February 15, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Zion lost, don't look at Payton Waters. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. Waters' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corvin Palmer, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Temple is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Mt. Zion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Temple wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-53 victory against Bowdon on the 4th. As for Mt. Zion, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-46 defeat against Douglas County on the 4th.
