Piedmont is 0-4 against Salesian College Preparatory since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Highlanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pride at 4:00 p.m. Piedmont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Piedmont's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Hayward 15-0. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the Farmers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Miya Fujimoto was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Piedmont got a massive performance out of Angelina Wu, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Wu has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Edie Elmquist, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Salesian College Preparatory had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Gauchos.
Like Piedmont, Salesian College Preparatory also got a great game from a two-way player: DeAmor Coleman. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Coleman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Salesian College Preparatory pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Piedmont, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Piedmont has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Salesian College Preparatory struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Piedmont might still be hurting after the 15-1 loss they got from Salesian College Preparatory in their previous meeting back in March of 2024.
