Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Hurley's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Hurley came out on top against Blue Eye on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 9-3 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Addy Maxwell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Maxwell was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madi Conrad, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Cali Frogley, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Hurley is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Blue Eye, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Coming up, Hurley will square off against Crane at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blue Eye, they will face off against Fordland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
