San Marcos led Valley in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on Granite Hills. Will Freed threw for 92 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.
The Knights made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,819 from 1,977. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 28-17 victory over the Eagles last week.
5-foot-11 quarterback Parker Lappin of Del Norte is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,873. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Isiah Hennie. The San Marcos star has 98 catches for 1,483 yards.
Hennie broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 57-yard run against Granite Hills. Hennie ended up with 57 yards rushing as San Marcos bested Kellan Cobbs' team.
