The King Lions can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Armwood as King made off with a 58-35 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as King also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Leading King to victory were Jabriel Hakim and Julien Barnett. Hakim scored 20 points along with seven rebounds, while Barnett scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The match was Barnett's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ian McLargin, who scored ten points.
Armwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Bernadin, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Talon Mckinnie was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Armwood were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
King pushed their record up to 8-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Armwood, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
King will be playing in front of their home fans against Brandon at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brandon is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Armwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Durant at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Durant presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Armwood in Florida (Durant is ranked 143rd, while Armwood is ranked 578th).
