After three games on the road, Patel is heading back home. They will take on the Brandon Academy Scorpions at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Patel focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
Patel suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2023 on Monday. Their tough 57-34 loss to Calvary Christian might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Patel can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Calvary Christian is ranked 167th).
Patel's defeat came about despite a quality game from SIMARKAE MCLEAN, who scored 21 points. That was a full 61.8% of Patel's points, marking the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Brandon Academy earned a 29-20 win over American Youth Academy on Tuesday. The win was just what Brandon Academy needed coming off of a 51-26 defeat in their prior game.
Patel's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-10. As for Brandon Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Everything went Patel's way against Brandon Academy in their previous meeting on January 3rd as Patel made off with a 37-17 victory. With Patel ahead 25-4 at the half, the match was all but over already.
