West Noble is 7-2 against Prairie Heights since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The West Noble Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Prairie Heights Panthers at 7:30 p.m. West Noble is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, West Noble suffered a rough 49-25 defeat at the hands of Central Noble. West Noble has struggled against Central Noble recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Alexia Mast was West Noble's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Mast also led the team in assists with three. She held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Prairie Heights beat Churubusco 44-38 on Friday. The victory was just what Prairie Heights needed coming off of a 44-22 defeat in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Ava Boots, who scored nine points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Mckinlee Kain, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
West Noble bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Prairie Heights, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
Tuesday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: West Noble have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 23.6 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Prairie Heights, though, as they've been averaging only 25.2 rebounds per game. Given West Noble's sizeable advantage in that area, Prairie Heights will need to find a way to close that gap.
West Noble beat Prairie Heights 38-31 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Noble since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
