Basketball Recap: Spring Woods Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Tavionn Pickens and Trae Pickens

Spring Woods was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 74-66 to the Madison Marlins.

Spring Woods' loss came despite strong showings from Trae Pickens and Tavionn Pickens. Trae went 10 of 16 en route to 22 points, while Tavionn went 9 for 13 on his way to 19 points. Those 22 points gave Trae a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Torian Pickens, who posted nine points.

Spring Woods' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4. As for Madison, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Spring Woods wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-61 win against Sterling on the 13th. As for Madison, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 79-75 defeat against Waltrip on the 14th.
