The Panama Razorbacks will head out on the road to take on the Heavener Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Panama unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 93-49 loss at the hands of Pocola. While losing is never fun, Panama can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Pocola is ranked sixth).
Heavener won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Stigler on the road and fell 65-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Heavener has scored all season.
Heavener's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jackson Clubb, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Clubb continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Zaid Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Panama's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Heavener, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
Panama came up short against Heavener when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 50-37. Thankfully for Panama, Landon Thurman (who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
