Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Crystal Springs Tigers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of St. Stanislaus by a score of 23-20.
Ian Gael gonz?lez rioz was his usual excellent self, rushing for 185 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and a touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes.
St. Stanislaus' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 5.5 times. Crystal Springs' QB won't forget Jacob Bradford anytime soon given Bradford sacked him twice.
Crystal Springs has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for St. Stanislaus, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Crystal Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Stanislaus will square off against Noxubee County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Noxubee County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully St. Stanislaus likes a good challenge.
