Baseball Recap: Cotter Takes a Loss

Cotter was the 6-2 winner over Yellville-Summit when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cotter Warriors lost 18-9 to the Yellville-Summit Panthers on Friday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Will Morris put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Brayden Adams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Adams is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Perkey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Cotter now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Yellville-Summit, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cotter will host Calico Rock at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Yellville-Summit, they will take on Melbourne at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
