Everything went their way against the Bel Air Highlanders on Tuesday as the Chapin Huskies made off with a 28-6 victory. Considering the Huskies have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chapin got a massive performance out of Yaretzi Acosta, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. The dominant performance gave Acosta a new career-high in hits. Alyssa Pena was another key player, going 3-for-6 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.
Chapin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bel Air only posted an OBP of .464.
Chapin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Bel Air dropped their record down to 4-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chapin will take on Eastlake at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastlake will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Chapin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bel Air, they will face off against Gadsden at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
