Softball Recap: Forest Hill's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Forest Hill brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They had just enough and edged out the Lanier Bulldogs 16-14. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Ari Potter, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Potter is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was LaPrecious Catchings, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Forest Hill picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest Hill will venture away from home to square off against Terry at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest Hill has given up an average of 15.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Lanier, they are taking a road trip to face off against Forest Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
