Arete Prep has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Benjamin Franklin Chargers at 5:55 p.m. on Saturday. Arete Prep will be strutting in after a win while Benjamin Franklin will be coming in after a defeat.
Arete Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. Everything went their way against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy as Arete Prep made off with a 76-52 victory. The result was nothing new for Arete Prep, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 66-51 bruising from Northwest Christian.
Despite the loss, Benjamin Franklin got a solid performance out of Kyle Mott, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Mott set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Landon Christensen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Arete Prep's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Benjamin Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Arete Prep suffered a grim 71-50 defeat to Benjamin Franklin in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Arete Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
