Unity Christian has struggled against Tri-State Christian recently, as their match on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Unity Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Samm Wilbur, who scored eight points along with three steals. Wilbur has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri-State Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cunningham has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Vannorsdel, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and 11 assists.
Unity Christian's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12. As for Tri-State Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unity Christian will take on Morning Star Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tri-State Christian, they will be playing at home against Quad Cities Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
