The Franklin County Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Northside Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Franklin County has four straight wins, Northside has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Franklin County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Patrick Henry on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Aleah Davis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Becca Merrick was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Eva Custer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Franklin County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Northside lost 19-1 to William Byrd on Friday.
Franklin County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Northside, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
Everything went Franklin County's way against Northside in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Franklin County made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
