Shelter Island had to suffer through a rough 74-40 loss at the hands of Smithtown Christian. Shelter Island has struggled against Smithtown Christian recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Smithtown Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lorenzo Crilly, who scored 26 points. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Yuen, who scored 18 points.
Shelter Island's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Smithtown Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Shelter Island will head out on the road to face off against Greenport at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Smithtown Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southold at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
