Wade Hampton is 9-1 against Eastside since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wade Hampton Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Eastside Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wade Hampton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 70-47 margin over Laurens. Given Wade Hampton's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Laurens is ranked 143rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Eastside had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Laurens with a 64-58 win on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Wade Hampton has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Eastside, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8.
Wade Hampton beat Eastside 57-46 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wade Hampton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
