On Monday, Coronado faced Silverado in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Coronado managed a 74-70 victory over Silverado. 74 seems to be a good number for Coronado as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Coronado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josiah Cunningham, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jonny Collins, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Desert Pines came up short against Legacy on Saturday and fell 62-52.
Coronado has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Desert Pines, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Coronado and Desert Pines were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but Coronado came up empty-handed after a 65-64 loss.
