Northwest Yeshiva is on a three-game streak of home losses, Pope John Paul II a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Northwest Yeshiva Lions will take on the Pope John Paul II Eagles at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Northwest Yeshiva came up short against Bush and fell 56-47.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Joe Benoliel, who scored 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Weichbrodt, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Pope John Paul II was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 59-54 to Quilcene.
Northwest Yeshiva's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Pope John Paul II, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Northwest Yeshiva came out on top in a nail-biter against Pope John Paul II in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, sneaking past 59-56. Will Northwest Yeshiva repeat their success, or does Pope John Paul II have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
