On Monday, the Idea Timberwolves faced Washington Leadership Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Idea came out on top in a nail-biter against the and snuck past 42-40. The victory was just what Idea needed coming off of a 50-30 defeat in their prior match.
Asaisha Greene was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Idea's points. Another player making a difference was Ar'Janay Jackson, who scored eight points.
Idea is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Washington Leadership Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2.
Idea won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in District of Columbia (KIPP DC Legacy College Prep is ranked 18th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 13th). As for Washington Leadership Academy, they will be playing at home against the Pythons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
