The Liberty HomeSchool Alliance Arrows will head out on the road to face off against the Altoona-Midway Jets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Altoona-Midway took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Liberty HomeSchool Alliance, who comes in off a win.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Liberty HomeSchool Alliance ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Newton HomeSchool with a 64-59 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Altoona-Midway's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 54-40 bruising from Uniontown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Altoona-Midway in their matchups with Uniontown: they've now lost eight in a row.
Altoona-Midway's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Meigs, who scored 15 points along with four blocks and two steals, and William Stackhouse who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Stackhouse is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieran Foster, who scored 13 points.
Liberty HomeSchool Alliance now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Altoona-Midway, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Liberty HomeSchool Alliance barely slipped by Altoona-Midway in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 50-49. Will Liberty HomeSchool Alliance repeat their success, or does Altoona-Midway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
