Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Leuzinger's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Leuzinger was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Aquinas on Saturday. Everything went the Leuzinger Olympians' way against the Aquinas Falcons as the Leuzinger Olympians made off with a 73-50 victory. Given the Olympians' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Falcons are ranked 774th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leuzinger got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Garland out in front who posted 17 points. The contest was Garland's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Malachi Knight, who earned 13 points.

Leuzinger has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Aquinas, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Leuzinger has already played their next contest, a 60-53 victory against Gahr on the 30th. As for Aquinas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-51 defeat against West Ranch on the 30th.
