The Smethport Hubbers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 53-38 bruising from Oswayo Valley. If Smethport hoped to take revenge for the 60-30 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Leading Oswayo Valley to victory were Brayden Wiley and Gabe Mundt. Wiley scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals, while Mundt scored 17 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mundt scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Connor Resig, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Smethport has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Oswayo Valley, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smethport will take on Galeton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oswayo Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coudersport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
