On Saturday, the Shaker Bison faced the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Shaker took a hard 68-50 fall against Our Lady of Lourdes. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shaker in their matchups with Our Lady of Lourdes: they've now lost three in a row.
Jayla Geter and Sofia Lanni certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Geter scored 11 points along with five rebounds, while Lanni scored nine points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sierra Carter, who scored six points.
Shaker's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Shaker will head out on the road to face off against Saratoga Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saratoga Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Shaker is ranked 14th). As for Our Lady of Lourdes, they will be playing at home against Pine Bush at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Bush is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
