The Terra Ceia Christian Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. Their tough 62-40 defeat to Eastern Christian HomeSchool might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Terra Ceia Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while Eastern Christian HomeSchool is ranked 75th).
Despite the loss, Terra Ceia Christian had strong showings from Leah Harrison, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Harley James, who scored seven points. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Eastern Christian HomeSchool got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bre Ange out in front who scored 18 points. The match was Ange's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Ange, who scored 18 points.
Terra Ceia Christian bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Eastern Christian HomeSchool, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Terra Ceia Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pungo Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Pungo Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday. Eastern Christian HomeSchool and Columbia will round out the year against one another at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th at. Columbia comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
