The Westminster Christian Warriors's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 victory over Earlville.
Earlville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nevaeh Sansone, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sansone has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madyson Olson, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Westminster Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-18 record this season. As for Earlville, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-23.
Westminster Christian will challenge College Prep of America at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Illinois (Westminster Christian is ranked 661st, while College Prep of America is ranked 684th). As for Earlville, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Amboy at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Amboy's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Earlville's offense will have their work cut out for them.
