It was a good run, but the Belle Fourche Broncs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Red Cloud. Belle Fourche has not had much luck with Red Cloud recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Red Cloud found their leader in underclassman Ashlan Carlow-Blount, who scored 20 points along with eight steals. The contest was Carlow-Blount's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Mills, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Belle Fourche's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Red Cloud, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belle Fourche will take on More at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (More is ranked 50th, while Belle Fourche is ranked 40th). Red Cloud is on the road again on Saturday and play against Todd County at 5:30 p.m. on January 6th.
