The Denmark Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Seymour Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Denmark's victory against Freedom wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Irish on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted against the Irish since April 23, 2022.

Tommy Bienapfl

04/11/25 @ New Holstein | 2 |

The team relied heavily on Tommy Bienapfl, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Gajeski, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Seymour entered their tilt with Xavier on Saturday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Hawks. Considering the Thunder have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Seymour got a massive performance out of Scott Sassman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Romy Oskey also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Seymour was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Seymour's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Denmark, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Denmark has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Seymour struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Denmark was able to grind out a solid victory over Seymour in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
