Landmark Christian extended the longest winning streak in Sunshine State - South this week by beating Victory Christian Academy, 53-28. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Patriots.
Landmark Christian made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,102 from 4,289. The advance stemmed from a 53-28 victory over the Storm last week.
Seth Johnson and Keland White gave Mark Burdon's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Johnson threw for 83 yards and three touchdowns, while White ran for 148 yards. Jaime Miranda also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
Harrison Hammontree was the best wideout in the league this week as Seffner Christian defeated Merritt Island Christian. Hammontree racked up three receptions for 56 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback R.J. Perciavalle of Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is the league leader in passing yards this season with 966. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, the Patriots' White has rushed for 1084 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jawuan Mathis. The Landmark Christian star has eight catches for 265 yards.
A big matchup in Sunshine State - South this week will be when the Hurricanes take on Master's Academy. At the moment, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is in third, while Master's Academy is in sixth.
Landmark Christian led the league in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on Victory Christian Academy. Johnson ran for 18 yards in the win.
